Hey PogChamps!! We are pleased to announce that we are back! This will be our 12th Great Escape LAN as a part of the LANFest Sacramento gaming events for charity.

Stuff to Bring

We at Great Escape LAN provide switches, power strips, tables, and chairs. Please bring the following:

  • Your Valid ID (Driver or ID Card)
    • Digital waiver: https://form.jotform.com/212516761711047.
      • Select LANFest Sacramento: Great Escape XII from the option menu on the waiver page.
      • Please sign this before the event; otherwise, you will face delays at event check-in.
  • Ethernet Network cable – Cat 5E or better (25 feet)
  • Power cables for your rig (limited to 2 plugs on a power strip*)
    • NOTE: Cables cannot block other outlet plugs. Any attendee with a plug that is too large and covers multiple power strip plugs must bring a short (1 ft) extension cable
    • NOTE 2: You cannot use your own power strip.
  • All your computer equipment (computer, keyboard, mouse, monitor, headphones etc… NO SPEAKERS)
  • (OPTIONAL) A chair of your own. (we have basic metal chairs provided)
  • Sleeping stuff (if you plan to sleep at the event)
  • Game face (most important thing)

Contests

  • Midnight Madness Contest
    • There will be two Midnight Madness contests. These are wacky and fun contests to give you a break from gaming and see if you have what it takes to come out on top win a nice prize!
  • Adhoc Contests
    • Any attendee can suggest a game to staff and we can help gather the players needed to run a quick and fun contest.
  • Adhoc Tournaments
    • Any attendee can suggest a game to staff and we can help gather the players needed to run a quick and fun tournament.

About Us

Great Escape LAN is a non-profit group dedicated to providing awesome, fun, and friendly gaming among friends and family. Great Escape LAN is meant to be a Family Friendly Event/Environment. Alcohol is ABSOLUTELY NOT ALLOWED in or around the event. With us being a family friendly event, we are not focused on competitive types of events or game play(e-sports). There will be a prize drawing giveaway for registered guests and participants only. For complete rules and regulations please review our Rules section (see bottom of page).

Charity

All money and proceeds made from the event will be donated to the Make-A-Wish® Northeastern & Central California and Northern Nevada to help support our community and those in need.

Rules

Minor Curfew

All unescorted minors must leave the LAN party at 10:00 PM and cannot return until 7:00 AM.  This applies to any person under the age of 18 if their parent/guardian is not present.  There will be no exceptions to this curfew.  Failure to follow the curfew will result in immediate removal from the LAN without refund and barred from any future LANs.

Hardware Curfew

Hours:
Saturday (Late Friday), Dec 08: 2:00 AM-8:00 AM
Sunday (Late Saturday), Dec 09: 2:00 AM-8:00 AM

Attendees cannot check-in or check-out any equipment during hardware curfew (with or without tags). This will help reduce theft and give people a peace of mind when leaving their battlestations at the event, over night. Special considerations can be requested for approval by the event admin if in a rare case an attendee has an emergency.

Participation Guidelines

  • Participants WILL conduct themselves in a professional and sportsmanlike manner.
  • Participants will be respectful of each others person and equipment.
  • Prize drawing winners will make themselves available for photos as per sponsor’s requirements.
  • Failure to follow these guidelines will result in immediate disqualification.
  • The consumption of alcoholic beverages on Great Escape Games property is prohibited.

Cheating

Great Escape LAN has a zero tolerance for cheating! If you are caught using any of the following cheats but not limited to: cheat codes, exploits, game hacks, memory editing, debug version game kernels or libraries, excessive ping of network devices or computers to slow network bandwidth. If you are caught cheating during any tournament match, it will result in the forfeiture of the game, and disqualification from all remaining tournaments/games and removal from the site.

Acts of Violence

Acts of violence will NOT be tolerated! Intentional damage to the property, other guest’s computers, staff property, network equipment, and items belonging to sponsors, is grounds for immediate removal from the event without refund. The Great Escape LAN staff reserve the sole right to define what is and what is not a violent act. No weapons of any kind are allowed at Great Escape LAN, this includes play toy weapons, paintball markers, Airsoft guns etc.

Illegal Activities

Great Escape LAN does not, under any circumstances condone any type of illegal activity whatsoever, including but not limited to the copying of illegal software, MP3’s or distribution of pornographic material to minors. Great Escape LAN Staff / Admins do not condone pirating; however we cannot and will not police machines and network traffic trying to find such items. Each individual is solely responsible for the software / files and the copyright laws associated with items that are located on their machine. In addition Great Escape LAN has a firm policy against viewing of pornographic material at our events. Please be aware that making pornographic material viewable and or accessible to minors is illegal. If a staff member view’s pornography displayed on your computer at any time, you will be removed from LAN party without refund. Participants understands that his/her machines(s) are his/her personal responsibility and liability and agrees to indemnify, defend and hold harmless Great Escape LAN /Staff /Hosts/ Sponsors and each Sponsor’s directors, officers, employees, agents and representatives from any claims arising out of, in whole or in part, the participant’s use in any way of his/her computers, monitor, or other computer related equipment during any Great Escape LAN.

Hacking

Great Escape LAN does not tolerate hacking of any kind under any circumstance. Hacking of computers, network devices, DoS attacks, viruses, backdoors or anything of the sort is grounds for immediate dismissal from the Great Escape LAN party without refund and can lead to banning said player from all future events.

Officials

Great Escape LAN officials along with Sponsors execute all facets of the LAN Party and Tournament. Great Escape LAN  Administrators  and Sponsors reserve the right to require any Participant to replay any match for any reason, at their sole discretion and to disqualify any participant who fails to follow the Official Rules, who makes any misrepresentation relative to the Tournament and/or the redemption of prizes, who tamper with the entry process or the operation of the Tournament or Web Site, who acts in violation of the Official Rules, who acts in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner or who acts with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person(s). To ensure that players have played according to the Official Rules, Tournament Officials will review ALL game play during the Tournament. Decisions by Tournament officials are FINAL. All prizewinners will be identified on site at the Event.
