Building Community and Smashing Records at BELOW ZERO LAN V6
Hello from the not so frozen north of Minnesota and BELOW ZERO LAN! This past July we were proud to host our 6th event, BELOW ZERO LAN V6.
BELOW ZERO LAN and our community got together for 2 and half days of gaming fun and mayhem. Games of all ages showed up to have fun with friends and fellow gamers. Some even made new friends to enjoy games and build our community even stronger than before.
On top of four great tournaments in Counter Strike 2, Mortal Kombat 1, Golf With Your Friends, and Mario Kart 8 deluxe. We had even more fun outside of these games. We held HARD DRIVE TOSS of old broken HDD drives that led to some tense moments to see who could score the most points. Free Geek Twin Cities joined us as well. There to help us clean up and properly recycle the HDD’s as well as old E-waste from our guests and staff as well.
With Free Geek Twin Cities they allowed us to help our community keep E-waste out of landfills and properly recycled and disposed of. They also brought in some cool retro hardware with PC’s and systems from the 90s that attendees and those walking in to see what LANFest was all about could enjoy as well.
We were also proud to host one of our fellow LANFest chapter reps, TOUT from LANFest Colorado. Who happens to know more about Jack in a YOU DON’T KNOW JACK THE RE-RIDE impromptu contest, sorry Roco.
Go to check out the photos from BELOW ZERO LAN on the LANFest Flickr. We are getting ready to bundle up for our next LAN when Minnesota becomes MinneSNOWta.
Below Zero Lan had an amazing turnout of 32 gamers of all ages. We saw many play Counter Strike 2 and many hopped into games of Friends Vs Friends as well. Partnering with Free Greek Twin Cities to help reduce E-waste in our area and to help old electronics get properly recycled or a new lease on life.
Thank you to all who helped make this all happen
