Katie Briggs
Kathrine (Katie) Briggs serves as the President of LANFest, bringing a twenty-five-year track record in executive leadership, strategic planning, and organizational development to the charity’s mission of building healthy communities through gaming. Guiding an organization with 21 chapters and over 400 volunteers, her expertise is deeply rooted in change management, organizational structure, and performance improvement—skills honed across government and healthcare industries. Katie has been a dedicated volunteer since LANFest’s inception in 2002 and has led the organization as President since 2018.
Katie’s leadership is characterized by innovative fiscal and operational success. She notably led LANFest’s financial turnaround, increasing annual revenue from -$70,000 to over $750,000 in just four years, without relying on federal grants or major corporate funding. Drawing on her formal training in Six Sigma Green Belt and LEAN methodologies, she ensures compliant financial management and the effective development and monitoring of all organizational programs. Guided by the values of Fun, Community, and Accomplishing Good, Katie has consistently reinvested in the mission by declining a salary, showcasing her commitment to sustainable impact.
