Akron LANFest 2026 LAN Guide

Akron LANFest is launching their First Annual LAN Event for a weekend of gaming, community, and fun. Join us October 10th-11th at the Bluebird Event Center for a two-day LAN celebration featuring 80 BYOC seats and activities for gamers of all ages.

Charity

Akron LANFest continues its commitment to giving back. This Fall, we will be raising funds for LANFest National’s Play with a Purpose campaign.
 
About Play with a Purpose
For years, LANFest has been dedicated to building healthy communities through gaming, raising over $1 million to support impactful initiatives. Now, we are putting our focus on growing LANFest itself, ensuring we can continue to create incredible gaming experiences while making a lasting difference. Your support enables LANFest to expand, host more events, and provide even greater opportunities for gamers to come together for a purpose.
 
Giveaway Format
Each ticketed attendee will receive 1 chance to receive a giveaway item from our sponsors. At the conclusion of the LAN, winners will be randomly selected and removed from the giveaway pool after receiving a giveaway prize. If all attendees are removed from the giveaway pool before all giveaway prizing is awarded, all attendees will be re-added to the giveaway pool until all prizing has been awarded.

Charity Raffle Format
Donate, grab your tickets, and choose the prizes you want most. The raffle pool will award prizing from the raffle pool.  Each raffled prize will have its own raffle pool, so you can drop your entries into the giveaways you are most excited about. (Must be present to be eligible for choose your own prize.)

Raffle Entry Levels
$10 = 1 entry
$25 = 3 entries
$50 = 7 entries
$75= 13 entries
$100 = 20 entries
 
For every $10 donated, you’ll also receive 1 entry into LANFest’s quarterly PC giveaway.
For every $50 donated, you’ll also receive a LANFest custom shaker cup.

Survival Guide

Pre-LAN Checklist

  • Update your games before coming so you don’t bog down the Internets!
  • Steam, Origin, Epic, EA, Battle.net, Riot, etc.
  • We will have a Steam Cache, but please don’t rely on it!
  • Back up any of your personal files!
  • Verify your seat location on the ticket website and compare it to table markers.

What to Bring

  • PC, Laptop, or Gaming Console
  • Computer Monitor (No larger than 32″)
  • Network Cable, 35 feet or longer to reach the closest switch.
    • Network cables for sale for $10 if you forget yours!
  • Headphones & Microphone
  • Speakers will not be allowed!
  • Power Strip (Only PCs, Monitors, Phone Chargers, and Portable Gaming Devices)
  • No daisy chaining power strips!
  • No coffee makers, tea pots, microwaves, mini refrigerators, Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS), or anything that draws lots of current!
  • Power Cables, Phone Chargers
  • Keyboard, Mouse, & Mouse Pad
  • Chair
    • Chairs are provided but you are welcome to bring your own!
  • Software
  • Screw Driver, Multi-Tool
  • If you feel you might need to fix or adjust something, we can’t guarantee we’ll have the proper tools to help you!
  • General self care items
  • Water Bottle, Tylenol(others)
  • Be good to yourself!

Rules

General Rules

  • Be kind to your fellow gamers and respect direction from Akron LANFest staff, and Bluebird Event Center staff.
  • Keep foul language to a minimum.
  • No cheating.
  • No hate speech.
  • No illegal file sharing.
  • No porn or questionable content.
    • This is a PG-13 event, we appreciate your help to keep it that way.
  • If the equipment is not yours, do not touch or use it without permission of staff or owner of equipment.
  • Have fun!

Facility Rules

  • No sleeping in the venue!
  • No outside food delivery to the venue, or outside food. (if you’re going to eat outside of the venue please keep it outside of the venue)
    • You may meet a delivery person outside, in front of the building.
  • Only personal sized coolers!
    • No ice in the coolers, only ice packs.
  • No drugs or outside alcohol!
  • Must use designated loading and unloading access doors!
  • Use designated entrances and exit doors only to ensure security.
  • No smoking, including e-cigs or vapes, in the building!
    • There are designated smoking areas outside the building.
  • Please dispose of garbage properly!
    • If you need help cleaning up a spill or disposing of a large box, please contact a staff member or volunteer for help.
  • Any report of theft will be investigated and the Cuyahoga Falls Police Department will be called as needed!
  • Please stay within designated areas.

Hardware Curfew

Hours:
Saturday (Late Sunday) 12:00 AM-9:00 AM

Attendees cannot take in or take out any equipment during hardware curfew. This is to help prevent any possible theft. If you really need to remove equipment during these hours, please talk with a staff member first.

Cheating / Hacking

Akron LANFest has a zero tolerance for cheating / hacking! If you are caught cheating or hacking during an online match, including during tournaments, you will be escorted from the venue and banned from ALL Future events.

Acts of Violence

Absolutely no acts of violence will be tolerated at Akron LANFest. This includes both physical and verbal violence. The Akron LANFest staff reserve the full right to discern what is and isn’t violence during any given situation. No damage to the venue or other attendee’s property will be tolerated.
